Weekend Fun lasts into Monday

working backyards from yesterday (monday):

Monday:
Took a day off from work and and cycled to Newport Beach pier, where I met up w/ gina and the boys. We had a great day at the beach swimming, burying those who wanted to be buried, getting sand into every nook and cranny, playing trucks, eating a picnic lunch, the whole nine yards. Coming home had dinner at In and Out, always a welcome treat but especially so after the beach. Regarding the cycling -- I tried a route Ive been itching to try -- from my driveway over to chino hills state park, then right down the middle of chino hills state park on dirt fireroads to the paved santa ana river hike/bike trail, which takes you all the way to the sand. Its a fifty mile route, the last forty of which are no cars, no traffic lights, no stopping. very satisfactory route.

Sunday: a much enjoyed day of rest. Drew and Seth under the weather, took the day off.

Saturday: CVCC bbq. fun and games w/ friends, enjoyed by all.

Friday: a friday night backyard campout w/ me and the oldest three boys over at a friends house. We watched a movie (Ratatuoille sp?) on a sheet in the yard. The boys rode scooters around the cul de sac w/ their friends. Bbq'ed burgers and dogs.

Speed Choo Choo

Drew and I have a new hobby, "Speed Choo Choo." We use whatever we can find to get the little train track as high as possible, and run a track descent down to the floor. Last night the little trains were welcomed at the end of the speed track by the open arms of Optimus Prime, transformer extraordinaire, where they met their end.

Couple nights ago seth and chan got on their bikes, chase on his big wheel, and drew in my bike seat and we rolled over to decker park for basketball. seth made a basket!

This morning when I was leaving for work the little guys (drew/chase) lined up and gave me big hugs and kisses, which was super cool. Drew is starting to talk a lot more.

Science Camp Week

Seth and Channing are in "science camp" this week. They are studying space and astronauts. Seth was so excited yesterday, he ran down the stairs in the morning in an astronaut costume. gotta love the enthusiasm.

after a spectacular week in seattle for cousin steve's wedding we came home and spent saturday at raging waters. we have been working diligently on the paper space needle models the boys picked up in washington.

chase, drew, and me spent sun afternoon in the pool, playing soccer, and flying this metal airplane contraption we have in our backyard. it was super fun having some time w/ just those two, its like a whole new set of sons.
